League Details
- League is $80M with 5/10/20 waivers. DH will be used starting in 1973. Divisions will be set up geographically.
- Franchises must play in the home ballpark where their team actually played.
- A franchise draft will be held. Managers will keep their franchise for the duration, subject to exemptions found below.
- Twenty players from the franchise must be on the roster at all times. A five-round draft will be held each season to fill the final roster spots. Draft order will be based on team records the previous season.
- If a team has less than 20 eligible franchise players, they will autodraft players to bring their roster to 20.
- Franchise rosters from the spreadsheet provided are the final authority on which players are eligible for a particular season. A player belongs to the franchise for which he had the most plate appearances or innings pitched. Managers should check their rosters against baseballreference.com and report any inaccuracies to the commissioner.
- Franchises with more than 20 franchise players in a season can drop and add as they desire, essentially creating a farm system.
- Non-franchise players can be dropped and added as desired.
- Trades involving non-franchise players are allowable. Franchise players cannot be traded.
- if high salaries keep a manager from completing his 20-man roster, franchise players will be replaced with non-franchise players valued at $1M or less, until salary requirements are met. The dropped players are still eligible to be recalled later as desired. The same rule applies if a manager is unable to fill the last five spots (non-franchise player) on his roster.
- At the conclusion of the tenth season (1971), the Padres, Expos, Brewers, and Royals franchises will be made available. Managers will, based on overall record the first ten seasons, have the option of exchanging their franchise for one of the aforementioned.
- At the conclusion of the twentieth season (1981), the Mariners and Blue Jays franchises will be made available. The same procedure will be followed.
- No DH from 1962-72. DH from 1973 forward.
- Specific issues, as they arise, will be addressed by the commissioner.
