Player Spotlight . . . Wally Moon

Wallace Wade Moon, a solid major leaguer, as evidenced by his .289 career average and 142 homers. The man had a .371 OBP back when nobody paid attention to those types of things. 

More important than baseball stats, however, is that unibrow. Wally Moon rocked the unibrow as good or better than anyone of the time period. He certainly had competition. Do an image search of Frank "Noodles" Zupo and Andy Etchebarren for starters.

Happily, as you will see in the photo below, Wally fought convention and took the unibrow into retirement. That's him on the right with the late great Duke Snider. Wally's retirement years were well-spent. He was Athletic Director and baseball coach at John Brown University for a time, as well as a minor league manager and team owner.
